Virgin Media Superhub Remote VPN Issue

Virgin Media, VPN, Cable, Office, Superhub.

If your VPN has recently stopped working, follow the below steps to resolve. This seems to have been caused by a Superhub update around September 2012.

  1. Login to Superhub, default IP 192.168.0.1
  2. Enter username/password (try superuser:changeme or admin:changeme)
  3. Click on Advance Settings on the bottom right of the page
  4. Select Security
  5. Scroll to the bottom section and tick the PPTP Pass-Through box
  6. Click Apply

Although this would suggest an inbound VPN setting to us, it did in fact resolve the issue of Windows PPTP home VPN connecting to a Draytek router at a remote site.
